Maison Saint Aix Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence AIX Rosé is one of Provence’s most recognisable rosés, famous for its large-format bottles and vibrant personality. Founded by Eric Kurver, who left behind a successful career in the music industry to pursue his passion for wine, AIX has become a modern benchmark for the style. The estate sits on the elevated plateau of Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence, about 420 metres above sea level, where the combination of cool nights, mistral winds, and limestone soils gives freshness and purity to the fruit.
The wine itself is a blend led by Grenache, supported by Syrah and Cinsault, capturing the classic Provençal rosé profile. Pale salmon pink in the glass, it delivers aromas of wild strawberries, watermelon, white peach, and delicate florals, with subtle notes of citrus zest and spice. The palate is lively and refreshing, showing juicy red berry fruit, fine minerality, and a clean, crisp finish that keeps you coming back for more. It’s a rosé made for long afternoons, embodying the spirit of Provence with elegance and ease.
AIX Rosé is particularly versatile with food. It’s perfect alongside fresh seafood like prawns, tuna tartare, or grilled octopus, but also complements charcuterie, goat’s cheese salads, or even lightly spiced Asian dishes. While it’s best enjoyed in its youthful vibrancy, the structure allows for a couple of years’ cellaring if desired.
