Cherry rose spice and classic Piedmont elegance from one of Serralungas finest estates.
Half Bottle 375ml
Massolino is one of Piedmont's most revered family estates, with six generations devoted to crafting wines that faithfully express the hills of Serralunga d'Alba. Renowned for producing some of Barolo's finest and longest lived wines, the family brings the same meticulous vineyard management and traditional winemaking philosophy to their Langhe Nebbiolo. It is a wonderful introduction to the elegance, perfume and structure that have made Nebbiolo one of Italy's greatest grape varieties.
Drawn from estate vineyards across the Langhe, including younger vines and carefully selected parcels not destined for Barolo, the 2024 vintage captures the freshness and purity of this outstanding region. Gentle extraction and maturation preserve the variety's vibrant fruit and floral aromatics, resulting in a wine that is approachable in its youth while retaining the unmistakable character of Nebbiolo.
The colour is a brilliant garnet with ruby highlights. Aromas of wild cherry, raspberry and blood orange are complemented by dried rose petals, violets, anise and delicate spice. The palate is finely structured and beautifully balanced, with bright red berry fruit framed by silky tannins and refreshing acidity. Subtle notes of tea leaf, earthy minerality and liquorice add depth before a long, savoury finish that lingers with elegance and finesse.
A superb companion to tajarin with butter and sage, mushroom risotto, grilled pork cutlets, slow braised veal or mature Pecorino. Delicious from release with a short decant, it will continue to evolve gracefully over the next eight to ten years.
