Gold Mundus Vini Spring Tasting 2025
Best of Show Veneto White
Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio from Veneto is a crisp, clean, and effortlessly drinkable white wine that captures the fresh alpine-meets-Mediterranean character of northern Italy. Grown in vineyards nestled between Lake Garda and the foothills of the Dolomites, this Pinot Grigio benefits from cool nights, steady sunshine, and mineral-rich soils — all of which help deliver brightness, aromatics and natural balance.
Fermentation is in stainless steel at cool temperatures to retain purity and freshness, with no oak influence. The result is a light-bodied white wine that is both refreshing and delicately floral, ideal for everyday enjoyment.
The nose is fragrant with white peach, green apple, lemon zest and a subtle note of almond blossom. On the palate, it’s dry and lively, with flavours of pear, citrus and a gentle mineral finish. There’s crisp acidity throughout, making it a natural pairing for light meals or as an aperitivo.
Food pairing: perfect with grilled seafood, caprese salad, risotto primavera, lemon roast chicken or mild cheeses. Also excellent with sushi, herbed couscous or vegetable antipasti.
Cellar potential: best enjoyed young within 1 to 3 years for maximum freshness and vitality.
