2024 Mike Press Rosé, Adelaide Hills

Produced from pinot noir. A satisfying, well-balanced rosé that flexes both the prettiness of red fruits in strawberry, cranberry and wild raspberry, but also a pleasing scattering of wild herbs and woody spice. It does this all in a lightweight, dry and savoury mode, and the uptick is excellent drinking and an amazing price. Drink to 2027.

The 2024 Mike Press Rosé is an easy to drink style, made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. The freshly pressed juice was left on skins for a few hours, helping to create the soft salmon pink colour along with a balanced structure, length and depth of red fruit flavours. Bright summer fruits of strawberries, new season raspberries and a splash of violets swirl around the palette, releasing a heady memory of summers past. The dry savoury finish demonstrates a hint of creamy texture softening the mouthful, creating a wine that is always inviting, fresh and enjoyable.

About this producer

Mike Press Wines was established by well-regarded winemaker Mike Press with the planting of 22 hectares of vines in 1998 and 1999 at 400-500 metres of elevation in the Kenton Valley of Adelaide Hills, just outside the town of Lobethal.

Bob and Yuko Harris purchased the vineyard and the business in 2017 with the commitment to carry forward the established reputation for quality and excellent value, with wines today made by Josh Waechter at the winery in McLaren Flat shared by Oliver’s Taranga.

The grapes for the white and rose wines are harvested in the early hours of the day, and cool fermented in stainless steel. All wines are filtered ahead of bottling.
