White pear, star fruit and golden kiwi. Lemon tea and honeysuckle. There is an interplay of fruit sweetness and acidity that is just spot on, making for a wine that feels plump and yet very juicy. Its partial mlf makes for a creamy lemon butter finish. Juiced ginger, chamomile and nettle, too. A wine that would pair with roast chicken or even creamy pasta very well. Wonderful value and flavour delivery.

Neudorf Tiritiri Pinot Gris from Nelson is a bright, textural and aromatic white that captures the freshness and vibrancy of New Zealand’s South Island while leaning into a more sophisticated, food-friendly style. Crafted by one of New Zealand’s most respected family-owned wineries, this wine reflects Neudorf’s commitment to site expression, organic vineyard practices and restrained, elegant winemaking.

The Tiritiri range — meaning “to share” in Te Reo Māori — is all about accessibility and enjoyment, offering a polished introduction to the Neudorf style. The fruit for this Pinot Gris is grown in the Moutere Hills of Nelson, where gravelly clay soils and a long, sunny growing season provide richness, natural acidity and lift. The vineyard's proximity to the coast brings cooling breezes that help preserve aromatics and structure.

Fermentation is carried out in a mix of stainless steel and older oak barrels to balance purity with gentle texture. The wine is left on lees for several months to build mouthfeel without compromising freshness.

In the glass, it’s pale straw with aromas of pear, white nectarine, lemon balm and a touch of spice. The palate is dry and finely layered, with ripe stone fruit, citrus peel and a subtle savoury edge. A hint of creaminess from lees ageing plays beautifully against the bright acidity and mineral finish, making it incredibly versatile at the table.

Enjoy it with grilled fish tacos, Vietnamese rice paper rolls, or a salad of pear, hazelnuts and goat cheese. Drink now for freshness, though it will hold gracefully for three to five years.
