From a variety of proprietorial sites, matured in older oak for six months. Tempranillo has a notorious acid deficit, and sometimes the urge to overcorrect results in disharmony. Not here, where the soft approachability is leant into, though not too much. Tarry dark fruits, sarsaparilla, coffee bean, cacao nibs, blackberry pastille, star anise, blackstrap and ripe raspberry. It’s supple, medium weighted and easy drinking, though with enough trademark tannin to give it gastronomic purpose.

Deep ruby in colour, the wine opens with aromas of red cherry, plum and raspberry, layered with dried herbs, gentle spice and a subtle earthy note. The palate is medium bodied and juicy, with bright red and dark fruit flavours, fine grained tannins and a fresh acid line that keeps everything lively and balanced. There is a savoury undertone and light dusty grip through the finish, giving structure and making it an ideal partner for food. It pairs beautifully with lamb, grilled pork, chorizo, tapas, paella and tomato based dishes. Designed for early enjoyment for its vibrancy and fruit purity, it will also cellar well for five to eight years, gaining extra savoury complexity while retaining its fresh core.
