The Hill & Valley range draws on fruit from the regions surrounding the Peter Lehmann winery — cooler elevated sites in the Adelaide Hills and Eden Valley alongside warmer Barossa Valley floor vineyards.
The fruit for this Chardonnay was grown in Eden Valley, the higher elevation side of the Barossa. Partial oak fermentation and maturation adds gentle toast and vanilla without dominating the fruit.
Pale straw with a light gold hue, the nose shows lifted melon and nectarine with toasted almonds and a background of charry oak. The palate is medium-bodied and fresh with grapefruit and citrus, rounded out by gentle toast and vanilla on a clean finish.
Good everyday drinking from a reliable Barossa name. Try this with grilled chicken, a simple fish dish, or maybe a pasta with creamy sauce.
