Very pale lemon yellow colour. Pear skin and gardenia aromas. Light bodied, with a vibrant pear and apple fruit that is accentuated by a lemon zest lift. Good length, the acidity remains vibrant to the finish where a drying fuzzy grip adds character. A lovely drink.
91 points The Real Review (Stuart Knox, May 2025)
Green pear, a bit of musk stick and spice. It’s juicy with green apple and pear flavours, lemon zest and some grainy grip, a little quinine bite and bitterness, raw almond, with a lively finish of good length.
90 points The Wine Front (Gary Walsh)
Quintessential fun Summer white wine from the Gjergia family and winemaker Tim Perrin, who produce some stellar Mornington Peninsula wines under the Kooyong and Port Phillip Estate labels, and some terrific drops for everyday drinking under the Quartier label, which uses grower rather than Estate fruit. This new release is a ripper; with tangy freshness and vibrancy perhaps more akin to grigio than gris styles, and a very food friendly personality with citrus and stone fruit flavours front and centre. Very good drinking for $30.
Wine of the Week (January 2025) Winsor Dobbin
The Quartier wines from Port Phillip are blends are sourced from diverse terroirs on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. The grapes for this wine are from Tuerong, Main Ridge and Dromana. Fruit is hand-picked, and whole-bunch pressed directly into Frenck Oak barriques. Fermentation was allowed to take spontaneously with ambient yeasts. The wine was aged for six months, and the wine was racked only once ahead of bottling. Bottling took place fining and with minimal filtration.
Straw in colour with a bronze tinge. Lively aromas of orchard fruit, pear and green apple. More delicate notes of rosewater and citrus blossom are complemented by hints of spice. The palate has a layered texture, with a crisp finsih.
