Saint Clair Pioneer Block 3 Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough is an intensely aromatic and vividly expressive white wine that highlights the precision and punch that have made New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc world-famous. This wine comes from a single vineyard site in the Lower Wairau Valley, known as the "43 Degrees" block, one of the coolest in Saint Clair’s portfolio. The slower ripening here intensifies flavour concentration while preserving piercing acidity and purity.
Harvested in the cool of the early morning to lock in aromatics, the fruit is gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel to retain its trademark freshness. Winemaking is focused entirely on highlighting the unique characteristics of the site — purity of fruit, vibrant acidity, and an almost electric palate.
In the glass, it explodes with passionfruit, fresh lime, blackcurrant leaf and elderflower, along with subtle hints of flint and jalapeño. The palate is zesty and layered, full of tropical citrus and crushed herbs, with a long, saline finish that’s both mouthwatering and memorable.
Ideal with fresh oysters, Thai green curry, goat cheese or summer salads with citrus vinaigrette.
