Medium depth red with a gentle tint of purple, there are smoky dark cherry, plum, dry undergrowth and fresh earth aromas, the palate medium weight with richness, intensity and medium length, with a light but positive grip of tannin and a faint trace of bitterness which suits the wine perfectly well. This has depth and should reward keeping 06 Jul 2025 Drink 2025–2032

Ah — thank you for the correction. I appreciate it. Let’s treat it as the new Tassie release properly.

This new addition to the Ten Minutes by Tractor range marks an exciting expansion beyond Mornington Peninsula, sourcing Pinot Noir from Tasmania’s east coast to explore an even cooler, more marginal expression of the variety. The estate, founded by three families farming vineyards just minutes apart in Main Ridge, has built its reputation on obsessive site selection and detail driven winemaking. Under winemaker Martin Spedding, the philosophy remains unchanged even when the geography shifts: precision, restraint and respect for fruit above all else.

The east coast Tasmanian fruit brings intense light, low rainfall and very cold nights, conditions that stretch ripening and amplify aromatic detail. In the cellar, handling is gentle to preserve perfume and texture. Extraction is fine tuned to build silk rather than weight, and oak sits quietly in support. The intention is transparency, allowing the island’s tension and brightness to define the wine.

Light ruby in colour, the aromas open with wild strawberry, red cherry and cranberry layered with rose petal, spice and a faint saline edge. The palate is medium bodied and finely etched, with vivid red fruit carried by crisp acidity and powdery tannins. Flavours glide through a long, savoury finish that feels cool and mineral.

It pairs beautifully with duck, quail and mushroom driven dishes. Drinking beautifully now for its vibrancy, it will evolve gracefully over eight to ten years.

This is Tasmanian Pinot through a Mornington lens, fragrant, precise and shaped by cool air and light.
