2025 Home Hill Landslide Pinot Noir, Huon Valley

Dark ruby Pinot that opens with aromas of dark cherries and damson plums with air bringing out notes of dark chocolate and licorice. The juicy, seductive palate flaunts rich sweet fruit and spice underpinned by bright acidity and soft tannins.

A glass of this Pinot would sit nicely with Sri Lankan Black Pork curry or Masgouf-style grilled fish with a tamarind, pomegranate and black garlic glaze.

The name Landslide comes from a landslip that occurred on the Home Hill property thirty years ago.

The fruit was cold soaked before open fermentation with a small percentage of whole bunches. The wine was matured for ten months in French oak barrels of which a quarter were new.

About this producer

Rosemary and Terry Bennett planted the first half a hectare of vines in the loamy clay soils of their Huon River Valley property in 1992.

Pinot Noir remains the focus for this family business, with Davis clones D5V12 and D2V6 dominating the now six-hectare vineyard managed by their son Sean and complemented by Burgundian clones 114 and 115.

The Home Hill style is one of rich and opulent fruit with savoury complexity.
