Sleek and slick, spicy and bright fruited, with a bit of creaminess. It's a wine that does a lot of speeds; feels easy drinking, albeit finishes short. Fun chardonnay for everyday needs, done decently. Just not a lot of complexity or X-factor here.

From the cool climate vineyards of Woodside in the Adelaide Hills, Tomich Wines has built a reputation for producing fresh and expressive wines that reflect the character of the region. The Tomich family established their vineyard in the late 1990s and today manage a large estate in the Adelaide Hills where altitude, cool nights and long growing seasons allow grapes to develop vibrant flavour while retaining natural acidity. Their Woodside Chardonnay draws on fruit grown in this elevated district, an area known for producing Chardonnay with purity, balance and elegant structure.
The wine shows a pale straw colour with bright green highlights. Aromas open with white peach, nectarine and lemon zest layered with hints of grapefruit, subtle oak spice and delicate floral notes. As the wine evolves in the glass gentle touches of almond and light brioche appear. The palate is vibrant and beautifully balanced with flavours of citrus, stone fruit and crisp apple supported by lively acidity and a smooth texture. The finish is long and refreshing with a clean mineral edge that reflects the cool climate of the Adelaide Hills.
This style of Chardonnay works beautifully with grilled prawns, roast chicken, seared scallops or seafood pasta where the wine’s freshness and citrus lift complement the flavours.
