The Wittmann family have cultivated vines in Rheinhessen for more than 350 years, with Philipp Wittmann widely regarded as one of Germany's greatest Riesling producers. A passionate advocate for organic and biodynamic farming, he crafts wines of remarkable precision that allow each vineyard to express its own unique personality and sense of place.

Kirchspiel is one of Rheinhessen's grand cru vineyards, neighbouring the famed Morstein and planted on limestone rich soils that produce Rieslings of elegance, energy and extraordinary refinement. Sheltered by surrounding hills and blessed with ideal exposures, the site consistently delivers wines with remarkable purity, vibrant acidity and outstanding ageing potential.

The colour is a brilliant pale gold with youthful green highlights. Aromas of lime zest, white peach and grapefruit mingle with jasmine, crushed chalk and delicate smoky notes. The palate is finely textured and beautifully focused, layering citrus and stone fruit over a powerful mineral spine. Saline freshness and crystalline acidity carry the wine through an exceptionally long, poised finish that reflects the pedigree of this celebrated vineyard.
