38/33/9/7/7/6% mourvèdre/grenache/carignan/counoise/shiraz/cinsault; steel ferment, then five months in older oak. A come-hither colour and classically dry, but there’s a succulent sweetness to the fruit flavours, allied with a textural pliancy. The acidity offers freshness but is also soft enough for that texture to play out. Poached strawberry, watermelon, white cherry, rosehip, musk and freshly ground cinnamon, all elegantly reflected. There’s clearly a lot of thought to the flavour and shape, but you’d be forgiven for focusing on the deliciousness.

Yangarra Circle Rosé from McLaren Vale is a fun and vibrant wine that offers exceptional value while showcasing the versatility of the region’s diverse terroir. Made from a unique blend of Mourvèdre, Grenache, Carignan, Counoise, Shiraz, and Cinsault, this rosé is a beautiful expression of McLaren Vale’s warm climate and its ability to produce wines with both fruit-forward character and refreshing acidity. Winemaker Peter Fraser, known for his biodynamic practices and sustainable farming methods, brings out the best of each variety, crafting a rosé that is both complex and incredibly drinkable.
The fruit for this rosé is carefully selected from Yangarra’s estate vineyards, where the combination of well-drained soils and cooling coastal breezes helps preserve the freshness and balance of the grapes. The unique blend of varietals contributes to the wine's depth and complexity, with each grape adding its own distinct characteristics. The winemaking process focuses on minimal intervention, allowing the natural flavors of the fruit to shine through. The grapes are gently pressed, and the wine is fermented in stainless steel to preserve its bright, fresh profile.
In the glass, the Circle Rosé displays a delicate salmon-pink color, inviting you to explore its aromatic and flavorful profile. The nose is a bouquet of red berries, such as strawberry, raspberry, and cherry, with subtle floral notes and a hint of citrus zest. On the palate, it’s crisp and refreshing, with a lively acidity that balances the juicy fruit flavors. The blend of varietals provides a layered, complex mouthfeel, with red berry flavors, a touch of watermelon, and a delicate spice from the Shiraz and Cinsault. The finish is clean, dry, and incredibly satisfying, with lingering red fruit and citrus notes.
This rosé is incredibly versatile, making it perfect for a wide range of food pairings. It pairs beautifully with seafood, such as grilled prawns or oysters, as well as light salads, fresh cheeses, or Mediterranean-inspired dishes like roasted vegetables and pasta. It’s also great on its own as a refreshing summer sipper, ideal for casual gatherings or outdoor picnics. With its amazing value and vibrant character, Yangarra Circle Rosé is a fantastic choice for any occasion.
