2024 Zenato Soave Classico offers citrus, pear and mineral freshness with elegant Veneto character and exceptional value.
Zenato has been one of Veneto's most respected family wineries since Sergio Zenato founded the estate in 1960. While the winery is internationally renowned for its Amarone and Lugana wines, the family has long recognised the potential of Soave's volcanic hillsides to produce elegant, expressive white wines. Today, Alberto and Nadia Zenato continue the family's commitment to quality, crafting wines that reflect the unique character of Veneto's historic wine regions.
The vineyards for this Soave Classico are located within the original heartland of the appellation, where Garganega thrives on ancient volcanic soils. These basalt rich slopes contribute freshness, texture and a distinctive mineral character that sets Soave apart from many other Italian whites. The 2024 vintage delivered excellent fruit quality, with warm days and cool nights preserving both flavour intensity and natural acidity.
Pale straw with bright green highlights, the wine opens with inviting aromas of pear, white peach and lemon blossom, accompanied by hints of almond and fresh herbs. The palate is crisp yet gently textured, revealing flavours of citrus, ripe apple and stone fruits balanced by lively acidity. A subtle mineral thread runs through the wine, adding depth and complexity, while the finish remains clean, fresh and beautifully refreshing.
A versatile food wine, it pairs wonderfully with grilled prawns, seafood pasta, fresh oysters, lemon roasted chicken, zucchini fritters or a simple risotto primavera. Equally enjoyable as an aperitif, it offers the freshness and elegance that have made Soave one of Italy's most enduring white wine styles.
