Bright, light golden yellow. Intense on the nose, slightly smoky notes of flint at the beginning make the wine exciting right from the start. Immediately followed by yellow fruit, light chamomile notes and light peach. Creamy, juicy and very balanced on the palate, yet with a fresh acidity that encourages drinking. Slightly salty on the finish.

Inama has spent decades proving that Soave can stand alongside Italy’s finest white wines. Founded in the heart of the Soave Classico zone and now led by the third generation of the Inama family, the estate has built its reputation on old Garganega vineyards planted on volcanic hillsides around Monte Foscarino. Foscarino is one of the winery’s flagship wines, sourced from steep terraces where ancient basalt soils deliver intensity, texture and a distinctive mineral character that sets it apart from everyday Soave.
The 2023 vintage is beautifully expressive and layered. White peach, ripe pear and preserved lemon aromas unfold alongside chamomile, wildflowers and hints of almond and crushed stone. There is impressive concentration through the palate, though the wine remains vibrant and focused thanks to bright acidity and a saline mineral thread. The volcanic soils bring a smoky, flinty character that weaves through the fruit, while careful lees ageing adds texture and complexity without masking the purity of the Garganega. The finish is long, savoury and wonderfully persistent.
This is a white that comes alive with food. Grilled prawns with lemon and olive oil, spaghetti alle vongole or roast chicken with herbs would all be sensational pairings. It also shines beside risotto with asparagus, fresh burrata or delicate seafood dishes where its freshness and texture can take centre stage. Given a little air, more layers of citrus, spice and mineral detail emerge, revealing why Foscarino is regarded as one of Soave’s benchmark wines.
