Delicious sweet late harvest wine from botrytis affected grapes
Please note: this is a 375mL size of a sweet late harvest wine
Excellent – a completely delicious wine with a distinctive bouquet of honeyed stone fruits and citrus peel preserve, there’s a spice layer suggesting baking spices then lees and whipped cream. Delicious, creamy and intense flavours that mirror the bouquet, high acidity and concentration. While this wine will age for some time to come it is also perfect to drink from today. Best from 2026 through 2036.

A real treat, the striking 2025 vintage is fully botrytised, late harvest style, grown in the Blind River district. Light gold, it is notably rich, with an oily texture and concentrated peach, apricot and honey flavours, sweet, vigorous, finely poised and long. Best drinking 2028+.
5 Stars Michael Cooper for The Listener
Beautifully aromatic, flower petal, apple, honey, a wisp of mushroomy botrytis, lemon curd. The sweetness is evident, yet there’s beautiful purity, and with its apple and citrus notes it still speaks of its variety. While it has high rs, it somehow pulls off a juggling act as there’s freshness too, with great acid balance. Wonderful texture, fabulous length, a wine to savour now and for years to come.

The grapes for this Riesling were grown in the Muritai vineyard of Blind River, a subregion of the cool, maritime Marlborough on New Zealand’s South Island. Located less than two kilometres from the Pacific coast, the site is one of the driest and windiest in the region. The 2004 established vineyard is planted in soils of moisture retaining sedimentary loams and silts.
Harvested late in the season, the noble rot (botrytis) affected grapes were selectively handpicked. Gently pressed, the skins were returned to the juice for an overnight maceration ahead of a second pressing. The juice from this was allowed to settle naturally in stainless steel and fermented with select yeast strains, with fermentation stopping naturally to produce a sweet wine with 178 grams residual sugar and a low 8.6% alc./vol.
This wine is vegan friendly.
