This is a little riper than in previous years, but it's still delicious. This needs a decent chill and a large glass to fully showcase its charms. Abundant clotted cream, sweet pear and custard apple flavours. The palate is rounded, with a mouth-watering quality and a faint phenolic warmth on the close. Drink to 2027.

Briar Ridge has a small batch of Albariño planted in the well-drained sandy alluvial loam soils of their Main Flat Block.
The fruit was machine harvested and in essence treated like Hunter Semillon to promote fruit expression with minimal winemaking artefact.
This style is best enjoyed young with fresh, lightly prepared seafood or something like a lemony zucchini pasta.
