Byrne Farm Chardonnay balances white peach citrus and fine minerality in a beautifully fresh cool climate Orange Chardonnay.
Byrne Farm has built a reputation for producing cool climate wines that capture the freshness and purity of Orange, one of Australia's highest and most exciting wine regions. Sourced from 25 year old vines, this Chardonnay reflects the maturity of the vineyard and the exceptional conditions of the outstanding 2025 vintage. Following the success of the previous release, which was awarded 95 Points and a Special Value rating in the Halliday Wine Companion, expectations are once again well justified.
Orange's elevated vineyards enjoy warm sunny days and crisp nights, allowing Chardonnay to ripen slowly while retaining vibrant natural acidity and impressive flavour concentration. Careful winemaking preserves the fruit's energy and balance, resulting in a style that combines elegance with generosity.
The colour is a bright pale straw with green tinges. Aromas of white peach, nectarine and Meyer lemon are complemented by grapefruit zest, roasted cashew, subtle oatmeal and a gentle touch of struck flint. The palate is finely textured and beautifully poised, with ripe stone fruit, citrus and delicate oak seamlessly woven together. A mineral thread and refreshing acidity carry the wine through a long, refined finish that speaks of Orange's cool climate pedigree.
Perfect alongside grilled snapper with lemon butter, roast free range chicken, creamy mushroom risotto, chargrilled asparagus with burrata or roast pork with apple and fennel. Delicious in its youth for its freshness and vitality, it will continue to develop extra complexity over the next six to eight years.
