Flametree was founded in 2007 by Cliff and Margaret Smith with a clear vision to showcase the best vineyard sites of Margaret River. Based in Wilyabrup, the heart of the region, the winery works closely with premium growers across sub regions to capture purity and balance. The wines are crafted under the guidance of winemaker Cliff Royle, whose experience at iconic estates shaped his philosophy of precision, texture and site expression. Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon have long been a regional signature, combining brightness with subtle weight.
Fruit is harvested in the cool of early morning to retain aromatics and freshness. Sauvignon Blanc provides lift and vibrant fruit, while Semillon contributes structure and mid palate depth. Fermentation in stainless steel preserves clarity and crispness, with careful blending ensuring harmony between freshness and texture. The goal is a dry white that reflects Margaret River’s coastal energy.
Pale straw in colour, the aromas open with passionfruit, lime and green apple layered with fresh herbs and a hint of citrus blossom. The palate is light to medium bodied and lively, with tropical and citrus fruit wrapped in crisp acidity. A subtle textural element from the Semillon carries into a clean, refreshing finish.
