Maison Fournier has been part of the Loire Valley wine landscape for generations, with its roots firmly established in Sancerre. Known for producing beautifully expressive Sauvignon Blanc, the estate captures the freshness and mineral character that make this region so celebrated. Les Belles Vignes is a charming introduction to their style, combining fragrant fruit, lively acidity and the unmistakable personality of Sancerre.
The 2025 is made from Sauvignon Blanc grown on the limestone and clay influenced slopes surrounding Sancerre. These soils, together with the Loire's temperate climate, contribute to a wine that balances generous citrus fruit with a refreshing mineral edge.
Pale straw yellow with bright green reflections. Fresh lemon, pink grapefruit and white peach mingle with elderflower, citrus blossom and a hint of crushed stone. The palate is crisp and beautifully balanced, with juicy citrus, delicate orchard fruit and vibrant acidity. A subtle chalky texture and gentle herbal note carry through the clean, mouthwatering finish.
Try it with grilled prawns and preserved lemon, zucchini and goat's cheese fritters, or Vietnamese rice paper rolls with fresh herbs. Its refreshing acidity also makes it a lovely match for oysters, steamed mussels and delicate white fish.
Cellaring: Drink now to 2030. Particularly appealing for its youthful fragrance and lively citrus freshness.
