Plush and velvety black berries with earthy ferrous tones
The 2025 vintage presents a vibrant and textural iteration of Hentley Farm’s Cabernet. It is packed with clear varietal and regional flavours of dark plums, blackcurrant and blackberry, underpinned by light spicy, ferrous tones, the overall feeling plush and velvety.
Barossa Cabernet are right at home with Latin American BBQ spreads. Try also with Beef Rendang for an indulgent treat!
More about this wine
Hentley Farm draws on three hillside blocks for its Cabernet wines. All of these vines face the morning and stand in shallow red clay topsoil over weathered limestone, producing bright, aromatic and well-balanced varietal fruit.
The 2025 growing season was warm and dry across most parts of South Australia, with fast ripening curves bringing in the harvest often weeks ahead of the norm. All of the fruit for this wine was de-stemmed ahead of fermentation, and the parcels matured for nine months in seasoned oak barrels ahead of blending and bottling.
About this producer
Hentley Farm was established in 1997 by Keith and Alison Hentschke in the rolling hills of Greenock Creek in the western reaches of the Barossa. Their 150-hectare property sits on a diverse range of soils that coupled with the varying orientations of the land gives them a rich tapestry of fruit styles from their two vineyard sites. Work at the winery has been led by winemaker Andrew Quin since 2008.
