All the energy, all the lemon and lime. Searing, linear acidity meets a juiciness and some puffs of talc. Lots going on here. A complex yet compact and very vivacious expression, with steely consistency and piercing intensity yet a general sense of freshness around all that. In essence, sheer refreshment factor and a vivid delivery of regional riesling. Drink to 2038.

Howard Park dates back to the mid-80s, 1986 to be specific, And it has been making their version of Great Southern Riesling since that time. The fruit is specifically from the Rock of Gibraltar Vineyard in the region. Anyone who claims to be a Riesling lover and who does not have this region well represented in their cellar is fooling themselves. A deepish lemon in colour, the wine opens with the most entrancing aromatics. There are notes of honeysuckle, florals, lemon curd and apricot skins. Exceptional balance throughout, the wine is taut and pristine with power and focus. There is a supporting note of wet slate underneath, while very gentle acidity and good intensity are intertwined until the lingering finish. It does appear that 2025 is yet another very fine vintage for the region. So much to love about this wine. Twenty-five years, if you have the patience. Drink to 2050.

Howard Park was established by Jeff and Amy Burch in 1986 and has become one of Western Australia's benchmark family wineries, earning a reputation for wines that capture the unique personalities of Margaret River and the Great Southern. Today Richard Burch continues the family's commitment to regional expression, precision and longevity.
The Great Southern is one of Australia's great Riesling regions, with its cool climate, ancient soils and strong Southern Ocean influence creating wines of remarkable purity and tension. Howard Park sources fruit from some of the region's finest vineyards, allowing the wine to showcase the freshness and mineral drive that have made Great Southern Riesling internationally admired.
The colour is a brilliant pale straw with youthful green highlights. Aromas of freshly squeezed lime, lemon blossom and green apple leap from the glass alongside hints of kaffir lime leaf and wet stone. The palate is bright and energetic, combining juicy citrus fruit with crisp acidity and a fine mineral thread that runs from start to finish. There is wonderful precision and balance here, with a long, refreshing finish that leaves the mouth watering for another sip.
Perfect with Coffin Bay oysters, grilled Spencer Gulf prawns, Thai fish cakes with coriander and chilli or a simple goat cheese and asparagus tart. Enjoy in its vibrant youth or cellar confidently for ten years or more as additional complexity develops.
