From vines over 30 years old, 10 months in oak. This is often the most reticent of the Jane Eyre wines, taking a little time to reveal itself. Not so this year, though that’s not negating the possibility of more left to unfold. Wild red fruits, sour cherry, rose and pomegranate, fringed with warm spices. The fragrance is quite beguiling, red fruited, floral, subtly spiced with white pepper, yet this is not about explosive fruitfulness; rather, elegance and poise are the themes. That fragrance blooms further on the palate, the structure all about refinement, with filigreed tannins and finely resolved acidity.

96 points Marcus Ellis for Halliday Wine Companion, July 2026

Gippsland-born Jane Eyre has lived in Bourgogne for almost 25 years where she began her négociant business in 2011 after experiences at Dominique Lafon and Domaine Newman. She was recently nominated the winemaker for the historic Domaine du Comte Armand in Pommard.

Not content with that enviable list of names and her own production in France, she also manages to produce sought-after wines in Australia, with fruit sourced from her trusted growers in Tasmania, Yarra Valley and the Mornington Peninsula.

This wine is sourced from 30-year-old dry-grown vines.
