Dry and perfumed McLaren rosé of Mataro, Cinsault and Grenache with textural and chalky red berry flavours
This is the lifted, more aromatic of the '25 rosé suite. Effusive pink grapefruit, blood orange, guava, tamarind and a spice/herb note reminiscent of curry leaf and fennel seeds. It’s dry, flavourful and fresh, if maybe currently a little quiet in the mid-palate. My feeling is it just needs a little time in bottle to flesh out. Drink to 2027.
90 points Marcus Ellis for Halliday Wine Companion, March 2026
This wine is a blend of Mataro (aka Mourvèdre), Cinsault and Grenache. The handpicked McLaren Vale fruit was crushed the same day and the free-run juice from all varieties co-fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel.
Dry, with minimal (0.8g/L) natural residual sugar. It is best enjoyed young and fresh.
