92 points James Suckling, October 2025
The Roaring Meg Sauvignon Blanc comes from Mt Difficulty's vineyards in the Pisa sub-region of the Cromwell Basin. The Central Otago Sauvignon Blanc character is less herbaceous than Marlborough, with more citrus drive and a stony, saline edge that comes from the region's distinctive soils. Reductively handled and cool fermented in stainless steel to retain freshness and varietal fruit character.
Pale green-straw, the nose is lifted and vibrant with aromas hinting at honeysuckle, lemon zest, gooseberry and ruby grapefruit. The palate is juicy and citrus-driven with grapefruit, lime and orange, finishing with a clean mineral and saline edge. Dry, bright and refreshing.
Best served young and well chilled. Keep things fresh with oysters, grilled prawns, spring rolls or a soft goat's cheese.
