Light, dry and textural Mencía rosé
Pretty pale copper pink in the glass with an initial reductive steeliness, this is dry and brightly aromatic with pink florals and raspberry notes and a zesty crunch. Fresh and zingy. Drink to 2028.
92 points Melissa Moore for The Real Review, December 2025
Mencía is an aromatic red grape variety native to the northwestern parts of the Iberian Peninsula. Oliver’s Taranga was the first property to plant the variety in Australia. This wine is 100% Mencía, with estate grown grapes vinified through carbonic maceration for enhanced perfume.
Reasonably low in alcohol (11.5% alc./vol.), this is light-bodied, precise and refreshingly different rosé wine. Plenty of spicy and textural watermelon and strawberry margarita flavours on the overall light, savoury and refreshing palate.
Enjoy young and fresh.
