Bright and juicy rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon with vibrant red berry and apple flavours
Langmeil’s Bella Rouge [ed. the Italian word for Beautiful and the French for Red] is a strikingly coloured rosé made from Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon, that would probably sit stylistically somewhere between the characterful rosados of Spain and the often slightly off-dry Cabernet Franc rosés of the Loire Valley in France. The fruit for the 2026 was sourced from ten- to fifteen-year-old vines in Lyndoch, vinified in stainless steel and retains 5g/L natural residual sugars.
Pours a beautiful raspberry red and greets with pretty and sweet aromas of mixed red berries. The generous flavours are fruity and juicy, with a bright, crunchy red apple like acidity keeping things fresh.
Chill well and enjoy before the next vintage is released. This has weight and juiciness that make it a delicious match with Yangnyeom-style Korean fried chicken, or tacos al Pastor!
About this producer
The Lindner family has been immersed in the Barossa’s farming community for six generations and are the custodians of what is believed to be the world’s oldest surviving Shiraz vineyard planted in 1843. Their commitment to quality is unwavering with the Langmeil name representing their family’s ongoing pursuit of excellence all aspects of viticulture and winemaking since 1996.
Like many in the region, the family is of Prussian heritage and settled in the village of Langmeil along the North Para River in 1838. The anti-German sentiment of the late-1910s saw many place names with German origins changed, with Langmeil becoming Bilyara. The locality is now part of the present-day Tanunda.
