Refreshing and floral tonic aromas with savoury, textural and bright fruit
Fiano in the hands of an Italian-Australian winemaker like Joel Pizzini can't go wrong. For one thing, it works a savoury and textural line that is most alluring. Strikes at fiano's varietal heart with stone fruits, yellow peach, pear skin, honeysuckle florals and bitter almond notes. A warm phenolic texture flows easily before the wine finishes dry. Top drinking enjoyment. Drink to 2028.

Light yellow colour with an attractive floral bouquet, fresh flowers rather than dried, the palate likewise, adding a tickle of sweetness that just leavens the wine's citrusy tartness, leaving a refreshing and beautifully poised finish and follow-through. An appetising wine indeed. Drink to 2030.

This features a quiet opening with gentle notes of almond, green apple, melon and shaved fennel. It unfurls and lifts with air, building the aforementioned notes with the addition of subtle brininess. The palate opens with bitter tones of green apple skin and green almond, followed by lemon, just-ripe green pear, fennel and a whisper of tonic water, while the finish is brightened and elongated by a good surge of citrusy acidity. A lovely bitter-toned and bright expression offering good value at $25.
90 points Tom Kline for Wine Pilot, November 2025
From the excellent quality 2025 vintage, the fruit for this wine came from Pizzini’s Rose River vineyard and was whole bunch pressed into stainless steel with the cloudy juice and solids fermenting at a cool, controlled 14-15 degrees. The wine rested four months on lees post-ferment, with a small amount doing so in well-seasoned oak. The racked wine was blended and left unfined before it was crossflow filtered in preparation for bottling.
