Brings plenty of grigio-style crisp, neat, crunchy personality to the glass. Against an unmistakeable background of apple, citrus and pear arise notes of lemon zest, ginger and almond. A light savoury complexity runs through the tangy flavour, enhanced by the aforementioned crunchy, bright acidity.

Pizzini Pinot Grigio from the King Valley is a crisp, lively and beautifully refreshing expression of the style, crafted by one of Australia’s most experienced Italian-heritage winemaking families. The Pizzinis were among the earliest to recognise how well the valley’s cool alpine nights, warm days and high elevation slopes could nurture Italian white varieties, and Pinot Grigio has become one of their most dependable, crowd pleasing releases. The vineyards sit along the upper reaches of the King Valley where decomposed granite, clay loams and cold mountain air help deliver fruit with bright acidity, clean aromatics and a gently mineral edge.

Fruit is hand picked early to preserve zing and delicacy, then pressed gently and cool fermented in stainless steel for maximum freshness. A short spell on fine lees adds a soft, silky mid palate without blurring the wine’s crisp, Grigio-style clarity. The approach is all about purity, vibrancy and drinkability.

The nose is bright and fragrant with notes of green apple, nashi pear and lemon zest, joined by honeysuckle, white peach, alpine herbs and a faint stony nuance. As it opens, subtle hints of jasmine, grapefruit pith and melon flesh add depth and charm.

The palate is clean, brisk and wonderfully refreshing. Juicy orchard fruits glide across a lightly textural mid palate, balanced by lively acidity that keeps everything precise and mouthwatering. Flavours of pear, citrus, apple and soft spice lead into a dry, zesty finish with a gentle mineral echo. The wine is delicious now and best enjoyed in its youthful, energetic phase.

Ideal alongside seafood pasta, grilled prawns, salt and pepper squid, salads, antipasti, sushi, roast chicken with lemon, vegetable fritto misto or simple dishes built on herbs and olive oil.
