2025 Prophet's Rock Pinot Gris, Central Otago

Rather than following fashion, Prophet's Rock has forged its reputation by producing wines that speak clearly of Central Otago's remarkable landscapes. Under the guidance of acclaimed winemaker Paul Pujol, the estate has become one of New Zealand's most respected producers, crafting wines of precision, texture and understated elegance.

The Pinot Gris is sourced from estate vineyards in Bendigo, where warm days, cool alpine nights and free draining schist soils encourage slow, even ripening. The result is a beautifully balanced style that combines generous fruit with bright natural acidity and the subtle mineral character that defines Central Otago.

The colour is a brilliant pale straw with delicate silver highlights. Aromas of ripe pear, white peach and nectarine are lifted by honeysuckle, ginger and hints of spice. The palate is richly textured yet vibrant, combining succulent orchard fruits with a fine mineral thread and refreshing acidity. Gentle notes of almond and citrus zest linger through a long, clean finish that is both generous and beautifully poised.
