No problem at all and thank you for the correction again. You are right.
At Quealy Wines the winemaker is Tom McCarthy, son of founders Kathleen Quealy and Kevin McCarthy. I mistakenly referenced Tom Carson earlier.
Here is the corrected version.
Quealy Wines has long been one of the pioneering estates of the Mornington Peninsula. Founded by Kathleen Quealy and Kevin McCarthy, the winery helped shape the region’s reputation for Pinot Gris and other cool climate varieties while also producing expressive Pinot Noir from the Peninsula’s maritime influenced vineyards. Today the wines are made by Tom McCarthy, who continues the family tradition of thoughtful vineyard work and balanced winemaking. The cool breezes from nearby Western Port and the Peninsula’s clay rich soils provide ideal conditions for Pinot Noir to develop aromatic lift and fine structure.
The wine shows a bright ruby red colour with excellent clarity. Aromas rise with red cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry layered with rose petal, subtle spice and hints of forest floor. As the wine opens further notes of dried herbs, tea leaf and gentle earthiness appear, adding complexity. The palate is elegant and finely structured with silky tannins carrying flavours of red berries, cranberry and savoury spice. Fresh acidity brings energy and balance, leading to a long graceful finish that reflects the cool climate character of the Mornington Peninsula.
The wine will continue to develop nicely over the next six to eight years and works beautifully alongside roast duck, grilled quail, herb roasted chicken or charcuterie.
