The vineyard sits on rolling hills of volcanic red clay, sandy loam and underlying limestone, soils that help Pinot Gris develop both richness and sleek mineral tension. Slow ripening is the hallmark of the Peninsula, with ocean breezes tempering warm days and preserving the fine acidity that gives this wine its brightness. Scorpo is known for his low intervention philosophy, and the fruit is handled with exceptional care: hand picked, whole bunch pressed, wild fermented and aged on fine lees in a mix of stainless steel and seasoned oak to strike the perfect balance between purity and silky depth.

The aromatics are layered and expressive. Pear, white nectarine and green apple lead, supported by citrus blossom, lemon peel and hints of jasmine. A gentle savoury line appears beneath the fruit, recalling sea spray, crushed stone and subtle spice. As the wine opens, notes of almond skin, fennel, chamomile and a whisper of honeyed florals add nuance without heaviness.

The palate is beautifully shaped, gliding between freshness and gentle creaminess. Pear, peach and citrus flow across a soft, lees enriched texture, kept vibrant by the crisp natural acidity of the region. Flavours of pear skin, lime zest, white peach, subtle melon and delicate spice unfurl in quiet, elegant layers.
