2025 Scorpo Estate Pinot Noir, Mornington Peninsula

From a small, family run vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula, Scorpo Estate Pinot Noir has quietly built a reputation as one of those wines that insiders chase. The Scorpo family planted their vineyard in the late 1990s, focusing on low yields and careful site management to bring out purity and balance. With strong maritime influence and a hands off approach in the cellar, the wine leans toward finesse, detail and genuine sense of place.

A bright ruby garnet with clear, vibrant edges sits in the glass. Aromas unfold with wild strawberry, red cherry and cranberry layered with rose petal, spice and a gentle forest floor note. There is a natural lift and freshness here that feels both inviting and quietly complex.

The palate is medium bodied and finely structured, delivering red berry fruit framed by silky tannins and bright acidity. Notes of pomegranate, dried herbs and a subtle savoury edge build through the mid palate, leading to a long, clean finish that feels precise and effortlessly balanced. Drinking beautifully now, this Pinot Noir will continue to evolve over six to ten years, gaining earthy depth and softer, more integrated texture.
