Certified organic and biodynamic Wairau Valley Sauvignon with firm, chalky and savoury flavours of citrus and herbs
Seresin Estate offers a notable departure from the mainstream Marlborough Sauvignon style. Opening with aromas of dried and grilled lemons, sun baked herb shrubs and beeswax, this medium-bodied and complex wine offers a savoury experience with firm and chalky flavours that mirror the aromas. Taut and refreshing, its drinking well on release, but holds a promise of developing well in the bottle over the next couple of years if you enjoy toastier expressions of the variety
While young, it would pair well with grilled squid stuffed with a savoury blend of pork mince and chives and served with a lemon-herb dipping sauce.
More about this wine
The estate’s multiple clones of Sauvignon Blanc contributed fruit for this wine which also includes a small amount of Semillon. The pressed juice was settled naturally and racked with light lees mostly into stainless steel, with 10% put in well-seasoned oak barriques and puncheons. Fermentation started with indigenous yeasts, and the parcels remained on lees for five months before these were blended, stabilised and filtered in preparation for bottling.
This wine is vegan friendly.
