Brings so much to the glass, not least of which is incredible value for money. Combines the ripeness and inviting stone fruit freshness of the viognier grape with zippy, energised acidity, and the result is mighty tasty. Peach, nectarine, citrus and apricot aromas give way to a smooth, mealy palate anchored to ripe fruits and framed in honeyed spice. A consistent performer that doesn't disappoint. Drink 2025 to 2031.
94 points Jeni Port for Halliday Wine Companion (Special Value), October 2025
Tahbilk is Victoria's oldest family-owned winery, with vineyards to 1860 farmed since 1925 by the Purbrick family. Fifth generation Hayley Purbrick continues that work today with General Manager Joanne Nash.
Located within Nagambie Lakes wine region, the 300ha estate vineyards are planted in iron oxide rich soils and surrounded by the Tabilk-Tabilk wetlands. These are an integral part of the estate and believed to have a significant moderating effect to the warmth of the surrounding Goulburn Valley.
Viognier was planted at Tahbilk in 1990 with 6.5 hectares now dedicated to the variety. This wine comes from the 2025 vintage which will be remembered for good spring rains and a warm, dry and trouble-free growing season that provided excellent yields and quality alike.
An attractive wine that opens with spicy ginger, rose petal and stone fruit aromas. The lush, medium to full-bodied palate mirrors these with ripe stone fruits and honeyed spice framed by youthful citrus notes.
Open now to enjoy with scallops with apricot-vanilla puree, roasted pumpkin, goat’s cheese and thyme tart or tarragon flavoured roasted chicken.
