2025 Talenti Rosso di Toscana, Tuscany

The Talenti family has deep roots in Montalcino, where Pierluigi Talenti established the estate after many years working at the celebrated Il Poggione winery. Today, his grandson Riccardo continues the family's dedication to Sangiovese, producing wines that capture Tuscany's generous fruit and unmistakable savoury character. Their Rosso di Toscana is a wonderfully approachable introduction to the estate.

The 2025 celebrates the youthful, vibrant side of Tuscan red wine, with an emphasis on freshness, fragrance and easy drinking charm. Unlike the family's more structured Brunellos, this is a wine designed for earlier enjoyment, with bright fruit and supple tannins.

Brilliant ruby red with purple highlights. Fresh Morello cherry, wild strawberry and red plum mingle with violet, dried thyme and a hint of sweet spice. The palate is juicy and medium bodied, with lively red berries, gentle tannins and refreshing acidity. A touch of earthy spice and dried herbs carries through a bright, savoury finish.

Try it with ricotta and spinach cannelloni, grilled pork skewers with fennel, or roasted capsicum and eggplant pizza. Its lively fruit also makes it a terrific partner for tomato based pasta dishes and antipasti.
