From selected parcels across McLaren Vale, Taylors Jaraman Grenache brings a fresh, modern lens to one of the region’s most exciting varieties. The Jaraman range was created to highlight distinctive vineyard sites across South Australia, and here Grenache thrives in warm conditions tempered by cooling coastal influence. Old vine fruit, careful extraction and a lighter touch in the cellar allow the variety’s natural perfume and spice to take centre stage rather than sheer weight.
A bright ruby crimson with vibrant clarity fills the glass. Aromas lift immediately with wild strawberry, red cherry and raspberry layered with rose petal, baking spice and a hint of dried herbs. There is an appealing sense of brightness and energy, drawing you straight in.
The palate is medium bodied and supple, delivering juicy red berry fruit framed by fine, powdery tannins and lively acidity. Notes of cranberry, spice and a gentle savoury edge build through the mid palate, leading to a smooth, flowing finish that feels both vibrant and beautifully balanced. Best enjoyed over the next five to eight years while its freshness and aromatic lift remain front and centre.
Lamb kofta wrapped in warm flatbread with yoghurt and herbs, charred eggplant with tahini and pomegranate, or nduja smeared across a blistered pizza base. A spin of something groove heavy from Khruangbin drifting through the room, the wine bringing warmth, spice and a relaxed Vale rhythm to the night.
