2025 Tim Smith Grenache, Barossa Valley

Deep ruby hue. Raspberry jam and liquorice aromatics. Rich and ripe red fruit sit full and velvety on the palate. Hints of anise and pepper add contrast to the fruit with a sandy tannin tension running at the edges to carry it along. The finish is a decent length, though a touch of warmth lingers. Drink to 2034.

The fruit for this Grenache was sourced from three Vine Vale vineyards, and the final blend is centred around grapes picked from vines planted in 1937. Warm fermented with partial whole bunch inclusion and aged on fine lees in French oak barrels, the wine was bottled without fining or filtration.
