This is a much more lively proposition than the 2025 Echoes, tasted alongside, with a wealth of pithy citrus on the nose, with layers of bitter orange and peach. Supple and polished at the start of the palate, it combines this fresh and pithy nature with a rather plump substance, the whole supported by a phenolic grip. I like the brighter sense of acidity here, not to mention the good sense of bitterness. Lovely energy here. For drinking now. The domaine’s entry-level cuvée, this accounts for 30% of the Pinard family’s production. A blend from several sites, it was vinified in wooden vat, and it was bottled in May 2026. The alcohol is about 14%, says Clément Pinard.

Domaine Vincent Pinard has become one of Sancerre's most admired family estates, with brothers Florent and Clément Pinard continuing generations of winemaking in the village of Bué. Their Sauvignon Blancs are celebrated for their purity, texture and distinctive limestone character. Florès is a particularly charming introduction to the domaine, capturing the fragrance and freshness that make Sancerre such a pleasure to drink.

Drawn from vineyards around Bué, the 2025 reflects the region's limestone soils and cool Loire Valley influences. Florès is made in a bright, expressive style, favouring lively fruit, delicate aromatics and refreshing acidity over excessive richness.

Pale straw yellow with green reflections. Fresh lemon, white peach and pink grapefruit mingle with elderflower, citrus blossom and a hint of crushed stone. The palate is crisp and beautifully balanced, with juicy citrus, subtle orchard fruit and a gentle chalky texture. A touch of fresh herbs and mineral salinity carries through the clean, mouthwatering finish.

Try it with grilled calamari and lemon, zucchini and goat's cheese fritters, or Vietnamese prawn and green mango salad. Its freshness also makes it a natural companion for oysters, steamed mussels and delicate white fish.

Cellaring: Drink now to 2031. Particularly appealing for its youthful fragrance and bright citrus freshness.
