Xanadu Vinework Sauvignon Blanc Semillon Margaret River is a classic Margaret River SBS crafted by one of the region’s founding estates. Xanadu was established in 1977 and has played a significant role in shaping Margaret River’s international reputation for elegant, maritime influenced wines. Under the guidance of winemaker Glenn Goodall, the estate continues to focus on balance, site expression and modern precision. The Vinework range highlights carefully selected parcels that reflect the freshness and vibrancy of the region, where gravelly loam soils and cooling Indian Ocean breezes create ideal conditions for Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
Pale straw with bright green flickers, the aromatics are lively and expressive. Passionfruit, guava and lime zest leap from the glass, layered with fresh cut grass, lemongrass and a subtle hint of snow pea. The Semillon component adds a gentle citrus blossom lift and a touch of structure that gives depth beyond simple fruit expression.
The palate is crisp, energetic and refreshing. Tropical fruit and citrus notes flow seamlessly across a backbone of bright natural acidity, while the Semillon contributes texture and length. There is a fine mineral edge and a clean, dry finish that makes this a quintessential Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, vibrant yet composed rather than overtly exuberant.
Perfect with freshly shucked oysters, grilled prawns with garlic and lemon, Thai green curry, goat cheese salad or simple fish tacos with lime. Designed for early drinking to capture its freshness, it is best enjoyed over the next two to three years while its fruit is at peak vitality.
