Yves Cuilleron is one of the Northern Rhône's most respected winemakers, renowned for his expressive whites and beautifully crafted reds. Since taking over the family domaine in 1987, he has helped revive interest in some of the region's smaller appellations. His Saint-Péray Les Potiers is a lovely example, capturing the richness and freshness of this often overlooked corner of the Rhône.
Saint-Péray lies just south of Cornas, where Marsanne and Roussanne thrive on granite and limestone influenced slopes. The 2025 Les Potiers combines the varieties' natural generosity with Cuilleron's careful approach to fermentation and maturation, creating a white with attractive texture and savoury detail.
Pale gold with a soft green glint. White peach, ripe pear and apricot mingle with honeysuckle, lemon zest and toasted almond. The palate is supple and rounded, with juicy stone fruit, gentle spice and refreshing citrus acidity. A delicate mineral note adds definition to the long, softly textured finish.
Try it with Vietnamese turmeric fish and dill, grilled prawns with saffron and lemon, or roasted cauliflower with tahini and toasted pine nuts. Equally delicious with a leek and goat's cheese galette.
Cellaring: Drink now to 2032. Its natural richness and freshness should develop appealing honeyed and nutty complexity over time.
