Coriole Piquepoul bursts with zesty citrus, crisp acidity and Mediterranean charm, making it the ultimate seafood white.
Coriole imported cuttings of Picpoul in 2009 and released their first wine in 2015. Clever people at Coriole. Pioneers of Fiano too. Pear, green melon, mint and green herbs. It’s bright, chalky in texture, has a juiciness to it, a lot of energy, some lemon peel tang, with a little quinine bite on a nutty finish of excellent length. Flat out yum. Yes!

Coriole has long been one of McLaren Vale's most innovative family wineries, introducing Mediterranean grape varieties to Australia decades before they became fashionable. The Lloyd family recognised that varieties such as Piquepoul were perfectly suited to the region's warm climate, producing bright, refreshing wines with remarkable natural acidity and effortless drinkability. Today, Coriole remains Australia's benchmark producer of this vibrant southern French variety.
The 2026 vintage delivered beautifully expressive fruit, with warm days encouraging generous flavour development while cool evenings helped preserve the crisp acidity that defines Piquepoul. Gentle handling in the winery ensured the variety's lively citrus character and refreshing mineral edge remained the focus.
Pale straw with shimmering green highlights, the bouquet bursts with aromas of lemon zest, lime, green apple and white nectarine, lifted by hints of jasmine, sea spray and fresh herbs. The palate is bright, crisp and wonderfully refreshing, combining vibrant citrus and orchard fruit with mouthwatering acidity and a delicate saline minerality. Clean, energetic and beautifully balanced, the finish is long, zesty and irresistibly refreshing.
A superb match for freshly shucked oysters, grilled King George whiting, salt and pepper squid, prawn tacos or a classic bowl of moules marinières. Equally at home as an aperitif or alongside seafood, this is one of Australia's most refreshing white wines.
