Soft and savoury rosé blend of Shiraz and Malbec with floral red fruit, citrus and mint aromas
The 2026 Leeuwin Estate Rosé pours a bright pale pink and greets with charming aromas of raspberries, roses, grapefruit and mint-like spice. All of these seem to spill into the palate with softly woven acidity and a savoury edge to the clean finish.
No need to overcomplicate things with this: enjoy as a refreshing aperitif and continue with grilled prawns, Mediterranean dips and hearty salads. Serve it well chilled and enjoy within 12 months of the release.
More about this wine
The 2026 season at Leeuwin Estate started with plenty of moisture in the ground after a wet winter. The prolonged and cool spring was followed by what was largely a good, uneventful season with even fruit ripening, with fruit for this wine harvested across two weeks in the middle of March.
The 2026 Rosé is a blend of Shiraz and Malbec, with each parcel had a short period of skin contact before being the grapes were pressed to stainless steel for settling, racking and inoculation with neutral cultivated yeasts. Roughly a quarter of the wine was barrel fermented in older French oak barriques and blended back to the stainless steel components before the final wine was lightly fined and fully stabilised in preparation for bottling.
