Dry, lighter style of Gris with lifted honeydew and spice aromas and layers of texture
Ten Minutes by Tractor was established in 1997 by three local Main Ridge families whose vineyards were roughly a ten-minute tractor ride apart. Current owners Martin and Karen Spedding purchased the company in 2004 and have taken it to the very top of Mornington Peninsula producers, with fruit sourced from own and leased vineyards in Main Ridge, Hastings and Merricks.
Their 10X wines are regional expression of each variety, shaped by the character of each season. The fruit for this wine was sourced from the Hunts Road, Osborn and Wallis vineyards. Hand harvested, the parcels were processed separately and fermented with indigenous yeasts in a combination of stainless steel, concrete and older, seasoned oak barrels. The wine was matured for three months in both concrete and French oak barrels before the parcels were blended and lightly filtered ahead of bottling.
The wine is vibrant and bright and has a lift of honeydew melon, lemon blossom, guava and spice together with layers of texture. A great option for almost any informal meal or simply on its own.
