Bodegas Patrocinio was established in Rioja in 1985 by the Pérez Cuevas family and has built a reputation for producing wines that offer authenticity, value and a strong sense of Spanish character. Under the Zinio label, the winery has expanded beyond Rioja to celebrate some of Spain's most beloved styles, including traditional method sparkling wines crafted with patience and precision.
Produced in the classic Cava regions of Spain, Zinio Gran Cava follows the time honoured méthode traditionnelle, undergoing secondary fermentation in bottle and extended ageing on lees to build complexity and texture. The combination of Mediterranean sunshine and cool nights helps preserve freshness while allowing the grapes to achieve excellent flavour intensity.
The colour is a bright pale gold with a persistent stream of fine bubbles. Aromas of green apple, lemon zest and white peach mingle with notes of brioche, almond and freshly baked pastry. The palate is lively and refreshing, combining crisp citrus and orchard fruits with creamy texture and a delicate savoury complexity gained through bottle ageing. The mousse is fine and persistent, carrying the wine through a long, dry and elegant finish.
An effortless companion for oysters, salt and pepper squid, jamón croquetas, prawn and chorizo skewers or simply a bowl of marinated olives and Manchego cheese shared with friends. Equally comfortable starting a celebration or carrying through an entire meal, this is sparkling wine with genuine versatility and charm.
