Harvested on August 26, Colin's 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets bursts from the glass with aromas of peach, pear, yellow apples, freshly baked bread and nutmeg. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and youthfully introverted, with fine tension and back-end grip. This is very promising.

Somewhat surprisingly, this is aromatically quite similar to the Vide Bourse with just a bit more citrus influence. The medium weight flavors possess a finer mouthfeel with terrific intensity and minerality, both of which carry over to the impressively layered and persistent finish. This excellent effort is a combination of power and refinement and a wine that should gradually develop over the next decade.
