Cremant de Bourgogne is the appellation that describes sparkling wines produced in Burgundy. Made by ‘Method Traditionalle’ that is used to make the more famous Champagne these wines are, due to the lack of branding, much cheaper than their cousins from Champagne, albeit comparable in quality.
Owned by Boisset, family company ranked amongst the largest five wine producers in France, this harmoniously balanced Pinot Noir Chardonnay wine with fine bubbles is showing persistent mousse and a wonderful length in the mouth. It is fresh and powerful with aromas of yellow fruits. The 36 month ageing on lees, well beyond the minimum requirement, adds further complexity and makes this a wonderfully affordable Champagne alternative.
Drink it as chilled aperitif or with liqueur such as crème de cassis or on its own.
