95 pts – Tyson Stelzer;
2008 base vintage; roughly equal proportions of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger for focus and attention Oger for Body and flesh, Avize for aromaticity and Cramant for harmony; 10% reserve wines; aged 4 years on lees; 7g/L dosage.
The sublime 2008 vintage sings energetic, pristine vibrancy that eludes yours’ lees age. Focused lemon zest, apple blossom, lime essence and lemon meringue of driving persistency are underscored by fresh chalk mineral structure. Subtle struck flint and bread reduction is characteristic of the style, while age has built subtle, biscuity candid almond, honeyed complexity, finishing with rounded sweetness and poised acid line. Outstanding.
