The 2014 vintage is all about balance, mouthfeel and intensity of flavour, a vintage that has wonderful appeal now, but will evolve slowly but surely as Heathcote Estate has proven time and time again. The wine is exceptionally poised with characteristic layers of red and black fruits, floral notes, tar, gun flint and excellent balance and concentration. The palate is seamless, elegant and plush, with beautifully ripe tannins. Stored carefully this wine will age gracefully for at least 15 years.

‘16yo vines, hand-picked, wild-fermented in a mix of open and closed fermenters with a small amount of whole bunches, matured in French oak (20% new). Deep crimson; a regal wine demanding attention to its array of black and blue fruits, licorice and black pepper; it has the mouthfeel of cool-grown shiraz, amplified by its controlled alcohol. Its length is a strong point, as is the texture and structure of its tannins. $45.00/13.5% alc/2039’
